पूर्व बौद्ध काल
जोगीमारा की गुफा:- अजंता एवं बाघ आदि गुफा चित्रों से पहले जो कलाकृतियां बनी वे सब पूर्व बौद्ध काल के अंतर्गत आती है। इस समय की सर्वश्रेष्ठ कृति जोगीमारा की गुफा है। जोगीमारा की गुफा मध्य प्रदेश की सरगुजा रियासत में अमरनाथ नामक स्थान पर नर्मदा नदी के उद्गम स्थान पर स्थित है।
डॉ ब्लॉख के अनुसार,
इसका निर्माण 300 ईसवी पूर्व हुआ था परंतु मार्शल के अनुसार इसका समय 1000 ईसवी पूर्व है। इस गुफा के पास एक सीता बोंगरा गुफा है जो कि एक नाट्यशाला है। इसे विश्व का सबसे पुराना नाट्यशाला माना जाता है।
जोगीमारा चित्रों की विशेषताएं:-
- चित्र चूने से पुते सफेद धरातल पर बनाए गए हैं।
- इन चित्रों में काले, लाल, पीले तथा सफेद रंग का प्रयोग किया गया है।
- चित्र की सीमा रेखा लाल है।
- जोगीमारा की गुफा के चित्रों में कोई धार्मिक विषय नहीं हैं।
- यह चित्र मानव के विधिवत भित्ति चित्रण की ओर प्रथम प्रयास प्रतीत होते हैं।
Pre-Buddhist Period.
Jogimara's Cave: - Ajantha and Bagh etc. Before the cave pictures, all the artworks, they all come under the pre-Buddhist period. The best masterpiece of this time is the cave of Jogimara. Jogimara's cave is situated in the origin of Narmada river in Sarguja princely state of Madhya Pradesh.
According to Dr. Blakh,
It was 300 AD earlier, but according to Marshal, it is 1000 AD East. This cave has a Sita Bongra cave which is a drama. It is considered the world's oldest drama.
Features of Jogimara Pictures:-
- Puts are made on white surface.
- These pictures have been used in black, red, yellow and white color.
- The picture line is red.
- There are no religious subjects in pictures of Jogimara's cave.
- This picture appears to be the first attempt towards the duly depiction of humans.
